Week 3 of "The Summer of The Sound of Music". Have you ever had someone in your life who you found challenging? Perhaps you don’t agree with some of their beliefs, or their habits don’t align with your preferences. We may find ourselves upset about what others are doing, and want to help them to improve. In “How do you solve a problem like Maria?”, we see a group of nuns who are frustrated by the behaviour of Maria. It seems that no matter what they try, Maria is either not willing or not able to follow their advice. “How do you solve a problem like Maria” illustrates the randomness of our judgments, how what matters to one person may not matter at all to another person… and it offers insights into a wiser approach for us when we judge other people.
